03Key features
Here's a feature-by-feature look at what shapes the viewing experience.
The menu is only a few levels deep, so you can reach any title in two taps. You can rearrange the home screen and change the theme color to suit your taste, so even first-time users won't feel lost.
Supports up to 4K UHD and adjusts the bitrate automatically based on your connection speed. Fast-moving sports footage stays smooth, and audio can be switched from stereo to 5.1-channel.
Supports 12 languages, including Japanese, English, Spanish, and Korean. You can switch the audio track and turn subtitles on or off at any time during playback. Subtitle text size is adjustable too.
Restrict viewing with a 4-digit PIN. You can choose which age ratings to block, and on a child's device you can set the app to show only the kids' category.
Record programs as they air and save them to the cloud. Saved programs can be fast-forwarded and rewound freely, and they play from the same library even if you switch devices.
No need to install a separate external player. Playback speed control, 10-second skip, and subtitle position adjustment — everything you need is on a single screen.
Supports smartphones, tablets, Android TV, Fire TV Stick, and iOS devices. Your viewing position syncs across the same account, so you can pick up where you left off when you're out.
Send the title you picked on your smartphone straight to the TV in your living room. Playback, pause, and volume are all controlled from your smartphone, with no setup needed on the TV.
Share what you're watching with family and friends in one tap. Recommendations are based on what the people you follow are watching, so finding your next title takes less effort.
04Plans and pricing
Here's what you can try without creating an account. You can move up to a higher plan from within the app at any time.
The free plan shows short ads before and after programs. If you'd rather not see them, switch to a monthly plan in the app.
You won't be asked to create an account the first time you open the app. Just launch it and pick a title to start playing. You only need to sign up once you want your viewing history synced.
Supported titles can be saved to your device and played back where there's no connection. How many you can save depends on your plan.
You can use the same account while traveling or on a business trip. If certain titles don't appear because of regional licensing, follow the guidance shown in the app.

After two weeks of hands-on use, here are the good points and the not-so-good ones, just as they are.
08Tips
A few small changes to your settings can visibly improve loading times and picture quality.
With so many titles, scrolling alone isn't an efficient way to find what you want. Combine keyword search with genre filters, and add anything that catches your eye to My List on the spot — the app will open faster next time.
In Settings you can set the audio language, subtitles, and default picture quality all at once. Deciding these up front saves you from switching them every time you open a title. On mobile data, set the quality to Auto to keep data usage down.
This app does not support automatic updates through an app store. If playback errors or crashes become more frequent, update the app to the latest version. Your settings and My List carry over.
Some titles can't be watched in certain countries because of licensing. If that happens, follow the guidance shown in the app. Please use the app in compliance with local laws and each service's terms of use.
Aim for at least 25 Mbps for 4K playback and at least 5 Mbps for HD. If video keeps stalling, switch to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band or move closer to your router. During peak hours, dropping the quality to HD keeps playback stable.
Repeated playback builds up cache, which can slow the app down. Running Settings → Apps → StreamTV → Storage → Clear cache once a month keeps startup and loading light. Your My List and login details are not deleted.
09Troubleshooting
The five most frequently reported issues, arranged so you can work through them from the top.
Start by restarting your device, and if that doesn't help, clear the cache. If an old version is still installed, uninstall the app once and reinstall the latest version.
The most common cause is a typo in your email address or password. If resetting your password doesn't fix it, check that your device's date and time are set to automatic. A clock that's off can cause authentication to fail.
This is usually caused by a drop in connection speed or temporary congestion on the streaming servers. Lower the quality to HD, restart your router, and try again. If it only happens on one specific channel, the problem is most likely on that channel's side.
The app can't be used on older OS versions. Check the system requirements and, if possible, install the latest system update. The same error appears when free storage drops below 100 MB.
Check your device volume, your Bluetooth connection, and the mute setting, in that order. If sound works on another channel, the issue is with that title's audio track. Switching the audio language sometimes resolves it.
10Editorial review
4.4/ 5.0
★★★★☆
In our testing, the speed from launch to playback stood out. Switching channels barely felt like waiting, and the settings you actually need are gathered on a single screen. As someone who watches a lot of foreign dramas, I also appreciated that it remembers your audio language and subtitles per title.
What gave me pause was that loading takes a few extra seconds during the busy evening hours, and that a few titles have no subtitles. That said, dropping the quality to HD makes it perfectly usable in practice, and considering how much you get for free, satisfaction is high. Our advice: start with the free plan, and move up to a higher tier if you find features you like.
11FAQ

If you only want to watch, no account is needed. You can start playing right away. Create an account if you want your viewing history synced, your My List carried over, or to watch on multiple devices at the same time.
Yes. However, how many devices can stream at the same time depends on your plan. If you go over the limit, playback stops on one of the devices. On the free plan, viewing is basically limited to one device.
Live streams and online titles require a connection. Titles you've downloaded in advance can be played even in Airplane Mode. Titles that can be downloaded show a save icon in the list.
